Since our radio station is an affiliate of the Texas Rangers is I get game highlights from the radio sent to my email every day. This includes the World Series. Normally I use a sound byte or two on my sports and then delete the email. This time, I downloaded every piece of audio and saved it.

My Weekend Sports Observations for Oct. 19, 2021

It’s been a while since I’ve done this, but here we are again. It’s time for my sports observations from this weekend:

1) I guess we should start calling Boston “Grand Slam City”. Holy cow. Three in two games against the Houston Astros in the ALCS. It’s already a record for the most hit in a playoff series. Am I being too greedy if I hope for more?
2) If we’re going to call Boston that, then what do we call Atlanta? “Walk-off wonderers”? Crazy how they’ve won both games against the Dodgers.
3) When are we going to get better NFL officiating? Its becoming a joke. On Sunday, Dak Prescott clearly crosses the goal line on a third down play Sunday but is not given the touchdown. The next play he fumbles trying to stretch the ball across and New England recovers. On Monday night, Derrick Henry breaks a long touchdown run in the second quarter. While watching a replay you can see the Bills safety, Jordan Poyer, being held as Henry runs by. This happens and you can live with it sometimes. However, towards the end of the game, the Bill had a 101 yard touchdown return called back for the same type of infraction. These are just a few of the many mistakes that happened this week. And its not just this week. Officiating has gotten really bad in the NFL.
4) That being said, man Derrick Henry is a beast and he’s a lot of fun to watch (unless he’s playing your team.
5) Not even two years removed from winning the national championship and Ed Orgeron and LSU have announced he will not be back after this season. There are reports that players don’t like playing for him. I’m not sure if that’s true. I just thought this was interesting.
6) Hockey is back!!!!!!
7) Speaking of Hockey, I’m glad its back on ESPN but its weird seeing the games on TNT. I’m not sure why but there have been some crazy stuff going on. For instance, they had Wayne Gretzky being interviewed while Washington was playing last week. They were asking him about Alex Ovechkin and him moving up the scoring ladder. But they had his head just kind of floating above the ice and it was really distracting. I’m sure they’ll get that stuff cleaned up. Either way, I’m glad hockey is back!
8) Not to completely contradict myself but I really don’t like watching football games (or basketball) on ESPN. I know what I said about the NHL being on ESPN but that’s different. I grew up with hockey on ESPN. The Dallas Stars won the Stanely Cup on ESPN. That’s how it’s supposed to be. I can promise you this, though, if they go down the same path as all the other programming they put out there I’ll hate the NHL on ESPN too.
9) The NBA starts this week.
10) I can’t figure out my Fantasy Football Teams this year. I should have a good week and I don’t. I should have a bad week and they play lights out. I don’t get it!

Growing up I loved the movie Field of Dreams. It remains one of my favorite sports movies.

Well, this weekend in Dyersville, Iowa is going to be a real life Field of Dreams between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox. I cannot wait for this to happen. It was supposed to be played in 2020 but was pushed back due to the pandemic.

Game 1 will be on Thursday night at 7pm est and can be seen on Fox.

Weekend Sports Observations for Tuesday, January 12th

Ok, it’s that time again. I waited until Tuesday this week because we had a National Championship game on Monday night (in case you were unaware). So here we go:

More Nickelodean please! From my Twitter timeline on Sunday afternoon I’m pretty sure everyone on the planet watched the Nickelodean broadcast of the Saints/Bears game. The premise was great. The execution was phenomenal. I surely hope this is something the NFL continues in the future.

Funniest news story from the weekend has to be this one:
WNY eye doctors offer free Lasik surgery to NFL replay official after Bills’ win
I mean lets be honest, you knew this was coming right? Bills fans (like myself) can look back and laugh at this headline now. However, had the Colts came back and won that game after a blatant missed call it might not be so pretty.

Another thing that was evident this weekend: why have a play clock in the NFL? I can’t tell you the number of times I watched quarterback after quarterback have the ball snapped to him well after the play clock hit zero. Perhaps they all need some eye surgery.

I heard it being discussed on a station in Dallas and its an interesting debate: How long until the NBA has to press pause on their season? Dallas and Boston have both postponed games. Other teams are dealing with Covid related issues as well. This includes Philadephia who will be down to eight players when the take the floor. The NFL is finishing up their season (or trying to) and it had some hiccups. Problem is, it’s easier to move games around a couple of days when you only play once a week. When you play more games a week, it gets harder and harder the more games you have to postpone. Just ask the Miami Marlins.

On the same note, I wonder if the NHL is paying attention. They already have games being postponed (the Dallas Stars) due to Covid issues within the team and organization. Their season hasn’t even started and they’re having issues. None of these leagues want to pause the season. They’re all playing with little to no fans. They lost a lot of revenue last year when they paused the season and had to relocate to a bubble. Now, you’re looking at trying to stay a float this season. I don’t envy the decision makers.

A week after winning the Heisman Trophy, Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith went out and had a night to remember Monday. Smith went out and had 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Oh, did I mention that was all in the first half? Smith’s performance was better than the entire Ohio State team in the first half.

Can someone tell me what happened to the Pittsburgh Steelers? Sunday night was the culmination of a two month free fall. This is the same team that started the season 11-0. This is the same team that was the last of the unbeatens. Six weeks ago they were the favorite to win the Super Bowl. The Browns put up 28 points in the first quarter. Let me repeat that. The Browns put up 28 points in the first quarter. It was one of the craziest playoff games I have ever seen. I think because it was so lopsided. I expected a closer game. Not a blowout.

Pete Carroll should fire whoever is telling him to challenge plays. In the first quarter, the Rams have the ball. With the player laying on the ground, a Seahawk strips the ball away and runs it to the end zone. Refs say the player was down. Red challenge flag comes out. It was so obvious the player was down, I have no earthly idea why it was challenged. But it was and Seattle lost the challenge and a timeout.

One of my earliest memories as a kid is watching Albuquerque Dukes baseball games with my dad. They were the AAA afiliate for the LA Dodgers. Because of this, I kept a close eye on the Dodgers. I was a big fan of them in the late 80’s. I remember watching the World Series win in 1988. But because of this, I have always had a fondness for Tommy Lasorda. I loved watching him manage. Loved hearing his stories. So his passing was a huge moment for me. RIP Mr. Lasorda. The world has lost one of the greats.

Only two of the six home teams won this weekend. Buffalo and New Orleans. That’s it. Now, is that because of limited fans and their isn’t much of a home field advantage? Or is that due to the competitive factor?

Is This the Best You Can do ESPN?

I cover sports and I am a huge sports fan. That being said, I am not a fan of ESPN. I don’t like what they’ve become. I don’t watch that channel unless there is a game on I want to see. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve watched Sportcenter.

I did like some of their radio programs, though. I usually listen to The Ticket when I can pick it up, but occasionally I like listening to ESPN radio. I liked Mike & Mike. Golic & Wingo wasn’t as good but it was decent.

So, I decided to give the new show, Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin a shot. I turned it on the first day and it was a train wreck. I made it five minutes tops. I haven’t turned it back on since.

So today I decided to give it another shot. I turned it on and this is what I heard:

One of the hosts: “Keyshawn, who do you think the number one wide receiver/running back combo is in the NFL?”

Keyshawn: “There are so many out there.” I could take Kenyan Drake and Kyler Murray from the Arizona Cardinals….”

I’m not sure what he said after that sentence. I turned it off immediately and questioned why ESPN is doing this to themselves. My wife watches zero football. If I turned on an Arizona Cardinals game, it would take her exactly two minutes to know that Kyler Murray is not a wide receiver.

In the words of other ESPN broadcasters, “C’mon Man”

My Weekend Sports Observations for Nov. 9, 2020

We are past the halfway point of the NFL season. We have a new start date for the NBA and another legend gone. Here’s my sports observations for the weekend.

In my heart of hearts, I know that I could never succeed on Jeopardy. However, when they decided to put a sports category up there, I was suckered into believing I could win it all. One of my favorite things about that show was the host, Alex Trebek. Jeopardy won’t be the same.

Trevor Lawrence couldn’t play this weekend because he was still out from the Coronavirus. I guess its ok to miss a game for that reason but still stand on the sidelines and cheer them on? I’m going to need some clarification on this please.

This is my favorite tweet from the weekend.

Crazy sequence towards the end of the half yesterday in Dallas. Cowboys were up 13-6 on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh decided to try a 54 yard field goal at the end of the half. The kick was no good. Wait. Stop. The play never happened because their was a flag thrown with a false start on the Steelers. The ball was spotted five yards further back. Mike Tomlin elected to try another field goal and this time it was good from 59 yards.

Can we all just take a moment and be happy for Alex Smith. After the leg injury that threatened his life, he fights back and gets a chance to play again. Yesterday he comes in for Kyle Allen and throws a touchdown pass. His first one since 2018.

With that said, can we all take a moment and say a prayer for Kyle Allen. That was a pretty guesome leg injury. Hopefully he recovers quickly and gets back out there for Washington.

I didn’t get to see it because of the Dallas/Pittsburgh game here locally, but that Arizona/Miami game looked like crazy fun. I’m not sold on Tua Tagovailoa yet but he had a pretty nice game yesterday. On the other side, Kyler Murray is just so much fun to watch.

Speaking of young quarterback, how about a bounce-back performance from Josh Allen. After a couple of mediocre games, he diced up the Seahawks defense to the tune of 413 yards. The stat that sticks out to me the most, though, is that he finished 31 of 38 on completions for 81.57%. That’s insane for someone who was completing under 60% coming into this year.

Dallas almost beats Pittsburgh with a fourth string quarterback who never started a game and New Orleans wipes the floor with the Bucs while Tom Brady has one of the worst games of his career. Meanwhile, Drew Brees was phenomenal once again. Who in the world would have ever thought we’d see a duel between two of the greatest quarterback to ever play the game and it would be one of the worst games of the weekend.

Peter King had this note in his weekly column:

“If Russell Wilson has a 16-year career quarterbacking the Seattle Seahawks, he will never play in front of the fans of Buffalo……..it’s pretty amazing to consider that the first time Bills’ fans might lay eyes on one of the great quarterbacks of this century will be in the season Russell Wilson is 40.”

My Weekend Sports Observations for Oct. 26, 2020

Hard to believe we are already at Monday. But, nonetheless, here we are. Monday again. And that can only mean one thing: it’s time to reflect on the sports weekend that was.

How bad are the Cowboys? 25-3 to a football team with no name? What is that? People will try to blame the Dak Prescott injury but let’s be honest. This team was bad with Prescott in there. I saw this on twitter last night: In the last 20 games, the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys both have 7-13 records. Let that sink in.

The Steelers are scary good.

The Patriots may want to go back in time and bring Tom Brady back. They seem to be going in oposite directions right now. Brady spiraling up while the Pats in a free fall back down to earth.

Living in Texas means Friday Night Lights is a weekly ritual. It’s not something to take lightly. It’s a religion in this state. Websites are dedicated to high school football in Texas. Texarkana has a game day setup before high school football games. That being said, this past Friday made me realize something for the first time. We need more cow bell at high school football games.

Being from Texas and covering high school football means I’ve been aware of Kyler Murray for several years now. He grew up about an hour from here so we heard his name a lot while he played for Allen. I wasn’t sure how his game would translate to the next level. He’s short. He’s a great baseball player. He’s a tremendous athlete. On Sunday night, he squared off against his doppleganger. Not because they look alike but, rather, because Russell Wilson is exactly everything I said about Kyler. He’s under six foot tall. He was drafted to play baseball. He’s a tremendous athlete. And, who knew, Murray outplayed Wilson on the national stage. Both quarterbacks played tremendous. It was Wilson’s three interceptions that hurt him though.

This play right here could potentially be the wildest ending to a sporting event I have ever seen, especially a world series game.

Clayton Kershaw is finally getting rid of that “he’s no good in the post season” label. He’s been stellar the last several years. He’s already won a couple of games in the series and, make no mistake about it, Sunday night was huge. Think about this. Game four ends in the craziest way possible (see link above). The Rays had all the momentum coming into game five. Down to their final at bat in game four with a person that hasn’t gotten a hit in the postseason. To come back and win that game had to be crushing for the Dodgers. In a matter of minutes you went from being up 3-1 in the World Series, to being tied 2-2.

The Atlanta Falcons keep finding new and creative ways to lose ball games. Against the Cowboys in week two, it was their inability to fall on an onside kick. Yesterday it was because Todd Gurley scored way too fast when he didn’t have to. Matthew Stafford marched down the field and put his team in the end zone to tie the game. After a personal foul penalty, Matt Prater calmly knocks down a 48 yard PAT for the win.

Chris Collinsworth said something on the broadcast last night that got me thinking. With the addition of the extra playoff spot for each conference, you could possibly see every team in the NFC West make the playoffs this year. That division is incredible.

We’ve had multiple weeks now where we’ve had Monday night double headers in the NFL. I’m a fan of this. I think they should get rid of the Thursday night game and move it to Monday. Let’s have more double headers.

My Weekend Sports Observations for Oct 12, 2020

Sports. Oh how I love thee. Let me count the ways!!

The SEC officials are terrible. I saw at least two calls that were completely blown calls. One of which, cost Arkansas the win over Auburn. That should not happen.

Both defenses were terrible, but the shootout between Texas and Oklahoma was “must-see-TV.”

Friday night lights is still special even in a pandemic.

Who didn’t shed a sports tear when you saw Dak Prescott being carted off the field with tears in his eyes.

Makes you wonder if he played his last game as a Dallas Cowboy.

The NFL keeps making things worse and worse. By not punishing the Titans, they have set a precedence. Now, because of said precedence, the league has had to shuffle games and bye weeks. Eight teams in total are effected because of the current COVID-19 situation in the NFL.

That being said, who doesn’t like Tuesday Night football? Especially when it’s your team playing. Go Bills!

How bad is the Cowboys defense? The Giants scored 47 points total in four games this season. On Sunday, against the Cowboys, they scored 34. Not all of that is on the defense, I know. The Giants did score on a pick six in the first quarter. The Giants as a team came in averaging under 12 points per game. They scored 14 in the first quarter against Dallas.

LeBron James! Un-freaking-believable! Enough said.

Russell Wilson showed on Sunday night why he’s still a top-three quarterback in this league. Its him, Patrick Mahomes (not necessarily in that order) and…..you can pick the third one.

Interesting Thoughts on the NFL and COVID-19

This article in The Buffalo News is a great read regardless if you’re a Bills fan or not. Obviously, it is slanted from a Buffalo Bills perspective (since they are in Buffalo).

However, their are some valid points being made in the article. Like this one:

“According to NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills, in the nine weeks since the start of training camps, there have been a number of “isolated, new positive cases of Covid among players and other personnel across nearly two-thirds of NFL clubs and one outbreak among the Tennessee Titans.” The league is investigating the Titans for players reportedly breaking protocols last week by gathering for a practice away from the team facility.

Regardless of the findings, it doesn’t address a much larger issue that proceeding with a season with a somewhat business-as-usual approach during a pandemic is predictably going to bring about infections. There’s hardly a sense, at least from the NFL’s perspective, that the worst is over.”

With Tennessee already having to reschedule a game from last week, it’ll be interesting what happens from here considering the Titans haven’t even been allowed to reopen their facilities yet.

Sports is a funny thing. It brings people together. It divides families. It causes much joy and sadness. With that being said, here are my sports observations from the weekend:

Jimmy Butler is showing the world how talented he is. Makes you wonder why he’s played on so many different teams.

I need a Football is for Dummies book to help me understand college football this year.

How does Oklahoma lose to Kansas State and Iowa State on back-to-back weeks? This is the first losing streak Oklahoma has had in the regular season since the Clinton administration.

Another year, same Texas Longhorns.

Another year, same Texas A&M Aggies.

I need a Football is for Dummies book to help me understand the NFL this year.

The Cowboys defense is ridiculously bad.

The NFC East is worse than ridiculously bad. Just look at these standings. Through four games, nobody in the division has more than one win.

I’m glad people in this area got to see the Buffalo Bills game so they can see how good Josh Allen is.

I miss hockey already.

Am I OK?

I’ve had several people ask me if I’m ok this morning. This might seem like a normal question for most days. People seem to ask, “how are you?” quite a bit. This time, though, it was a little different.

Football is my first love and probably always will be. Running a close second, though, is hockey. In particular the Dallas Stars. Ever since Dallas got a team in the early 90’s, I’ve been hooked. I go to multiple games throughout the year. I’ve been to multiple playoff games. It’s just something I love to do.

Not just Dallas Stars, though. I will sit down and watch any hockey game if its on TV. The NFL is the only other sport I will do that with. Doesn’t matter the teams involved. I’ll be watching.

With that as the backdrop, the question this morning, “are you ok?” means something a little different. The two month playoff run is over the Stars and they are not the champions. Going into Edmonton, I didn’t think they’d get out of the first round. They looked disorganized and out of sorts. Their starting goalie was unfit to play. It looked like a bad ordeal.

Then they beat Calgary in the first round. Ok, this was going to be a nice consolation to the hockey season. Next up, Colorado. The Stars got by them. It took a comeback in game 7 but they won the game in overtime. The Stars have made the Western Conference Finals. Ok, I’m happy now. The opponent for the Conference Finals? The Vegas Golden Knights. Not only did Dallas get by them, they beat them in five games.

Everything was rolling for Dallas. That is until the Stanley Cup Final where they met up with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Stars magical run came to an end last night with a 2-0 loss to the Bolts. I guess I should be sad. I should sit here and be disappointed that they didn’t finish the job.

That’s not the case, though. Instead I’m sitting here thinking about what a wonderful ride the past two months have been. I could never, in my wildest dreams, imagined the Stars would be in the Stanley Cup Final this year. With all the adversity they had to endure, its unfathomable they made it this far.

So, am I ok? Yeah. As a matter of fact, I’m better than ok. I’m thrilled that I got to spend the last two months watching the team I love play the sport I love and almost make it to the top. In the words of Dr. Seuss:

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

My Weekend Sports Observations for Sept 28, 2020

It’s crazy how hockey is a game of inches. In double overtime, Anton Khudobin sticks out his pad and just barely touches the puck with the toe of his skate. This preserved the tie for the moment for the Dallas Stars.

Corey Perry and Joe Pavelski were brought to the Stars for Saturday night. They have scored big playoff goals their whole career. Saturday night, they did it again as they scored all three goals for Dallas. Pavelski tying the game in the third period and Perry winning it in double-overtime.

I love broadcasting sports on the radio.

The Dallas Cowboys offense is going to be really good when they get all their people back. Dak Prescott was really good yesterday behind an offensive line held together with Duct Tape. Look at these numbers. He completed 64.9% of his passes. He threw for 472 yards and three touchdowns. He did have two interceptions in the game but man was he good.

Russell Wilson didn’t have the huge yard totals that Dak did but he was equally as good. He finished with 67.5% completion percentage and threw for five touchdowns and 315 yards.

Aaron Rogers can throw the ball 50 yards flat footed. Some of the passes he made against the Saints were ridiculous.

The Buffalo Bills appear to have a quarterback. After leading his team to a wild card game last year, Josh Allen seems to have taken bigger strides this year. The third year guy has started the season with three straigh 300+ passing games. To put that in perspective, Allen had never thrown for 300 yards in a game coming into this season. In three games so far, he has 1,038 yards. His completion percentage for the season is 71.7%. This is incredible in the fact that he’s been around 55% for the past 2 seasons. He has thrown 10 touchdowns and one interception.

LeBron James reminded everyone this weekend that the NBA is still his league and everyone else should be thankful he allows them to participate.

That being said, I think it would be ironic if his former team, the Miami Heat defeated his current team, the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals.

I don’t even know how to describe what I saw Saturday in College Football.

Opening Night in the NFL and I'm Going to be Busy

Normally, opening night in the NFL is like a holiday to me. I order pizza and wings. I lock myself in the other room and enjoy the game. I’ve been doing this for as long as they’ve had opening night on Thursday.

That’s normal. We all know 2020 is anything but normal. As is the case for tonight. Instead of watching football I will be locked on to the Western Conference Finals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. That’s because the Dallas Stars are playing.

In a normal situation, football would take precedence over hockey. But, then again, in a normal situation training camps wouldn’t eve have stated for the NHL. Here we are, though, playing the conference finals the second week of September. So I will be watching a game tonight. Just not like I normally would.

A New Project

I’ve been thinking about and planning a new project. I can’t get into much detail at the moment but I can say a little bit.

I’ve always liked podcasting. I’ve tried several myself that didn’t really take off. I have theories on why that is but I’ll save them. I started microcasting earlier this year because I wanted to talk. Its been fun but I haven’t found the right groove yet.

Then it dawned on me that it wasn’t the right groove because it was all wrong. After listening to my friend, Ronnie Lutes’ new podcast, it hit me. Ronnie talks about music because that’s what he loves and that’s his passion. I need to be talking about sports. That’s my passion.

So, I have a new podcast coming out in the near future that will be about sports. However, it won’t be sports like your used to. I won’t be talking about current games, teams or who is going to win the championships. No, this is going to be a different take on a sports podcast.

So be on the lookout for a new podcast thats all about sports but with a different flavor.

High School Sports in 2020

This past week High School volleyball started its season here in Texas. While players, coaches, parents and sports journalists (like myself) are excited to be back at the stadium, its important to know something. Sports in 2020 is going to look a lot different than it did in the past.

We all should know this already. Our lives have been drastically changed to due the virus that shall not-be-named. We all know someone who has been effected by this situation. Whether its being infected by the virus or losing a job the impact has been felt all over the country. While sports has been on a hiatus, some people have had to make a game of trying to find toilet paper before their last roll runs out.

While professional sports has been back for several weeks now, high school sports is trying to get started. In the same week that two of the major five college conferences announced they would not be playing sports this fall, volleyball has opened their doors to the fans.

Don’t get me wrong, things are still different. At the local game I went to, there was a big UIL sign on the front door outlining rules and policies. A sign reminding people that masks must be warn hangs prominently as you enter. A temperature check is done at the door. Areas around the scoring table were roped off to prohibit people from walking up.

All of these things were expected due to the virus that shall not-be-named. These are all practices we’ve seen at local grocery stores, places of business and other places of gathering. It was still weird to see at first. Did it effect me at all? No. I sat in a little corner of the gym watching the game. I sat there taking notes and tweeting about the game just like I would have if it was 2019 or 2018.

Sports are back and I hope its here to stay. The first part is thanks to schools and the UIL. The second part is up to us in doing our part to help slow the spread of Cov….oh I almost did it. To help top the spread of the virus. Volleyball is here. Football starts up in a few weeks. Sports are back. Just know it may look a little different than what you’re used to.

So Patrick Mahomes hit the jackpot this week and all I could think about was how stupid Jerry Jones looks now. My podcast partner, Steven Johnston, has been saying for week that Jerry needed sign Dak Prescott before Mahomes signed a new deal.

See, the problem isn’t whether or not you think Dak is as good as Mahomes. He’s not. There’s no arguement there. However, you don’t pay a quarterback what he’s worth usually. You pay them what the market is for a franchise quarterback. If Dak is a franchise caliber quarterback (and he is) then you’re going to have a to pay him market value or let him walk.

With Mahomes signing a deal worth between $45-$50 million a year, the market has been set. It wasn’t too long ago that Aaron Rodgers was the highest paid quarterback at $22 million a year. Mahomes has doubled that. The market keeps going up and up for franchise level quarterback. Dallas should have signed theirs when the asking price was $35 million. Who knows what they may have to pay now.

The World We Live In

Yesterday I was talking to a sports fan. When I say a sports fan, this person has season tickets to Texas Longhorns football and lives 20 minutes from Oklahoma. He drives down there with his family every weekend to watch the games. This is someone who attends other, various games with his family throughout the year.

He stopped me to ask me if we’re going to have sports this fall. Mainly he asked about the NFL. We talked for a little bit about that and I mentioned baseball. His response was quick and without hesitation:

“Baseball has lost me as a fan.”

He went on to talk about how he loves baseball but what they’ve done the past couple of weeks is sickening. It got me thinking, though. How many people, like this guy, are turned off by the “money” argument that both owners and players are doing right now. We have businesses all over the country that are struggling to remain open right now because of new government regulations when it comes to the coronavirus.

Some businesses have shut down. Others have had to go through massive layoffs and furloughs. Here we are as a country trying to get through this pandemic and sports franchises are arguing over money. Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand the argument from both sides. I get why they’re doing it. I don’t, however, understand how they can be doing it so openly in front of the public.

It makes you wonder if these people remember where their salaries come from. They make their millions of dollars every year because people like myself and my friend will buy tickets and merchandise to support them. If they keep messing around and making more people mad, will people want to go watch them? How are you going to convince someone who just got laid off or had their hours cut to pay $100 to come watch you play a sport? That’s the danger of what we’re facing right now in this country.
