The more I drive in this town, the more I realize something: people DO NOT know how to drive. That’s all there is to it. Here are a few observations I have noticed over the past week (yes, just the past week).

  1. People do not know what to do with a yield sign. I’ve seen people completely stop (when there’s no traffic at all). I’ve seen people pull out in front of other cars without yielding at all.
  2. If I have to ride my brakes so that I do not run into you, that probably means you are driving way too slow. I shouldn’t be going faster than you when I’m coasting.
  3. Four-way stop. Enough said!!!
  4. If you need to turn left, you should probably be in the left lane prior to the street you are turning on. Cutting in front of several lanes of traffic to make a turn is not advised.
  5. A solid line means its a no-passing zone. Dotted lines mean its safe to pass (if NO cars are coming in the other direction).
