Before I go any further, this is a post about living healthy. Don’t let the title of fool you!

As documented before, I’ve been working out consistently for several years now. I get up at 3:30am and I’m at the gym by 4 for a workout. Sometimes I’m able to get in a second cardio workut in the afternoon. This is my life and I love it.

It wasn’t until I made changes to my diet, though, that I started seeing the scale drop in numbers. I’m down 30 pounds since this spring. Here’s the kicker, though. I haven’t really lost any more weight over the past six weeks. The number on the scale has stayed the same.

That must mean something’s wrong, right? I mean the number on the scale has to be going down in order for there to be progress, right?

Wrong! Although the number on the scale isn’t moving (for now), other things are happening. I’ve recently had to go down a size in pants because the ones I’ve been wearing are falling off now. Clothes are fitting different. I’ve had multiple people come up to me over the past couple of weeks and say that they can tell I’ve been losing weight.

All these changes are happening and the number on the scale has stayed the same for the past six weeks. Will that number change? Yes it will. It will eventually start going down again. I know this. The point of this post, though, is to not be so obsessed with a number on the scale that you don’t realize what’s happening. Trust the process. Whatever your goals are. Whatever means you are using to achieve those goals, trust the process. Eventually you’ll get there. The number on the scale may go down. It may go up. Or it could possibly stay the same, but that doesn’t mean you’re not on the right track.
