Ok so I know that I’ve talked a lot about The Paper Plan & Co. lately. But its with good reason. I purchased a few magnetic page markers last year. The markers themselves weren’t anything really special.

What made this gift unique and special, though, was the hand written card that came with the order. It was hand written by the owner of the company, Emily Frisella. Personalized to me saying thank you for the business.

This year, I decided to do something different. I decided to move my calendar to a paper calendar instead of digital. When I made this decision, I didn’t have to look hard for a place to buy one. I immediately went to Paper Plan & Co. I picked out the planner I wanted and ordered it.

That wasn’t all I ordered, though. I also bought a task pad to keep track of my to-do items. I love the planner, but I can tell you without any reservation that the task pad is a game changer for me.

I keep the pad in my backpack. I tear one sheet off and start writing things down that need to get done. Whether this is work or personal, it doesn’t matter. I then start knocking things off my list. This accomplishes two things for me. First, I’m not relying on my phone or other electronic devices to tell me what I need to do. I also find satisfaction in the act of crossing something off a list. Rather than pushing a button my phone. That doesn’t hold the same weight.

Also, its easy to ignore the item on my phone. With this, it means I can’t throw away a piece of paper unless I physical do that last item or I have to transfer that item to the next blank sheet. This system wouldn’t work for everyone. But, if you’re like me, and you’re constantly using computers, tablets and phones for everything else in your life perhaps it wouldn’t be a bad idea to switch things up a bit. And paper is a great way to switch it up.
