At the end of the school year (and thus the sports year for me), I decided to make a few changes this summer. The first thing I decided to do was get off social media. I have deleted all the apps from my phone and iPad. Well, except for micro.blog but I don’t consider that a social media platform. I look at it as my blog hosing platform and always have.

I also decided to incorporate some other things into my life. I’ve been journaling a lot more. Every day as a matter of fact. I’m still trying to figure out the best type of journaling for me. Some days I journal digitally. Other days I write in a notebook. And then there are those days where I do both. I’ve also started doing morning pages. I’ll write more about this at a later date.

At the end of May, I decided to challenge myself to do something. For the entire month of June, I decided that I would do 100 walking lunges every day. Not because I needed to build my legs but because I wanted to see if I could discipline myself to do it. And guess what, I did it. That’s right. Thirty straight days of walking lunges. (Ok, technically I have to do 100 today before I can say I finished it). There were some days I didn’t feel like doing it. The first 10 everyday sucked. After I pushed through the first 10, the rest seemed pretty easy.

Now what? Well I think I’m going to take this further. Why not? Two months? Perhaps 100 days? I have no clue. But I do like the discipline this takes to accomplish so I’m going to keep doing it. I’m thinking about incorporating 100 push-ups a day for the month of July. So that would be 100 walking lunges and 100 pushups every day. Or maybe I won’t. That’s the beauty of this summer. Its all about me and getting things in order in my life.
