Apple’s Journal App for the iPhone Truly Surprised Me After a Month

Here’s a quote I particularly found interesting though:

Journal is just another way to lock you into iOS and the Apple ecosystem. Imagine a year goes by and you made hundreds of posts, all of which are stored on your iPhone. Would you just throw away that diary and switch to Android?

And it’s a great point. With an app like Day One, your entries are available on iOS, Android and even the Web. So if you wanted to use it on a PC, or an iPhone/iPad you can. If you switch to a Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel, it’s available there as well. This might appeal to other people. I’m so far in the Apple ecosystem right now, that I’m not sure I’d be switching anytime soon. Between a MacBook, iPad Pro, Apple Watch, and iPhone I have a lot invested to keep me here.
