My Weekend Sports Observations for Sept 28, 2020

It’s crazy how hockey is a game of inches. In double overtime, Anton Khudobin sticks out his pad and just barely touches the puck with the toe of his skate. This preserved the tie for the moment for the Dallas Stars. Corey Perry and Joe Pavelski were brought to the Stars for Saturday night. They have scored big playoff goals their whole career. Just kicked the corner of a brick ledge our wood burning stove sits on. Although I know it’s not broken, my toe sure feels like it right now.

I May Have a Slight Problem

For years I used to rearrange my iPhone homescreen. I was never happy with it. I would arrange icons based on color and functionality. I would easily change apps so that the color pattern would remain together. I would spend hours every week fidgeting with it. I could never get the right combination of apps. Harsh Words for the Big Ten

In her column Opinion: Big Ten’s decision to play football signals darkest day in conference’s sports history, Christine Brennan doesn’t mix words and she gets to the point including this: “Maybe some teams will get through a full season. Perhaps others will have to stop after a game or two, or miss games in the middle. Hopefully no one will get sick or spread COVID to others. We’ll see. This is the potential chaos the Big Ten chose when it decided to sell its soul for a few football games.
