To Sport or Not to Sport. That is the Question.

I haven’t said much on the subject outside of my weekly podcast I do with Steven Johnston. I’m not sure how we’re going to have high school sports this fall. The UIL made it mandatory for schools to close down for almost two weeks for deep cleaning this past week. They’ve only been practicing and working out for a month. A lot of schools in Texas have had to do a two week quarantine due to positive cases in their athletic departments (either coaches or players).

So Patrick Mahomes hit the jackpot this week and all I could think about was how stupid Jerry Jones looks now. My podcast partner, Steven Johnston, has been saying for week that Jerry needed sign Dak Prescott before Mahomes signed a new deal. See, the problem isn’t whether or not you think Dak is as good as Mahomes. He’s not. There’s no arguement there. However, you don’t pay a quarterback what he’s worth usually.

The World We Live In

Yesterday I was talking to a sports fan. When I say a sports fan, this person has season tickets to Texas Longhorns football and lives 20 minutes from Oklahoma. He drives down there with his family every weekend to watch the games. This is someone who attends other, various games with his family throughout the year. He stopped me to ask me if we’re going to have sports this fall. Mainly he asked about the NFL.

Personal Brand

The other day I was mowing the yard and listening to a podcast with Jason Snell and David Sparks called Focused. In this particular episode, they talked to Shawn Blanc about being creative. The conversation was great. I’ve been a fan of Shawn’s for a long time and I love what he’s doing with The Sweet Setup. However, that’s not what caught my attention in this episode.
